Ackerman Family Weekend

This past Friday and Saturday, Olivia's Grandma and Grandpa Ackerman came for a visit! Friday evening we met them, Uncle Craig and Jenna at Play 'N Trade. Olivia was a little fussy as her nap was cut short, but by the time we got to dinner, she loved spending time with her Grandma and Grandpa! We had the pleasure of eating at Russ' (Grandpa's choice). Uncle Craig was not thrilled with this decision, but his complaints went unheeded. Olivia had a new experience at dinner when Grandma decided to let Olivia put the pop straw in her mouth. Grandma didn't think Olivia could use a straw, but Olivia showed her (at least it was diet).

If you look closely, you can see the pop coming up the straw.

"Grandpa, I'm not allowed to eat that food."

After dinner, we went to the hotel pool, where Jenna and Craig were able to swim. Olivia was quite tired, but with all the excitement, she kept herself awake. Grandma sang while Olivia cuddled with her, perfectly content in her Grandma's arms.

Saturday, everyone came over to our house for breakfast (pancakes, sausage, coffee & orange juice). Olivia napped while we ate breakfast and played some impromptu games of Pictionary. I think everyone had a fun time!

Afterward, we went to Barnes & Noble, where Grandma and Jenna picked out a book and an "associate" (Jenna's term for a stuffed animal) for Olivia. Next we went to Kohl's to look for Easter dresses. Grandma and Jenna picked out a pretty green dress for Olivia, along with some coordinating shoes (newborn size). After Kohl's, we all headed to JC Penney, where Jenna tried on Easter dresses. Olivia, meanwhile, played and laughed in her bugaboo. She also was carried by Grandpa, leaving Adrian the monkey alone in the bugaboo. With all this shopping, we worked up quite an appetite, so we walked through the mall to Red Robin. There we had fun socializing, and Olivia was into everything, from the coasters to the silverware. It was quite the eventful weekend!
